Happy New Year 2012!

Another year over... and a new one just begun!
This little graphic was created in Illustrator using the Rockwell Extra Bold typeface. I also used a stroke with brush effect to give it the 'hand drawn' feel.
Happy New Year to you all!

Summer Party...

I re-discovered this little retouch only recently. Created in 2010 for a summer party.
The words were added in Photoshop using perspective, emboss and texture effects...

Unique

I combined a scanned image of my thumbprint with a distorted typeface to create this graphic.
Black and white was the only real colourway that worked.

This graphic was created entirely in Photoshop using texture filters and brushes.
By using opacity, translucent effects can be achieved.

Oh Christmas Tree...

This simple xmas tree was really easy to create in Illustrator. The spiral and star were hand drawn, then a sketch brush effect was applied. The graphics were then duplicated and a gaussian blur added. Simple - but very effective!

Robot

This little robot started life as a doodle in my notepad. After scanning the sketch, I brought him to life in Illustrator and added a little cityscape to set him off.

Writers Block

A new logo for a writers convention. The logo was eventually used on an invite, flyers, poster and a little chocolate box. Created in Illustrator.

Save the Date

This graphic was used as a save the date reminder for a product launch invite (logos etc removed). A simple graphic but the client was very happy with it (they paid they bill anyway!)

Get to the point

A simple little graphic I created in Illustrator, which is perfect for duplicating and arranging multiple images.

Sound Flow

This graphic was a concept for a poster (never used). The arrows were created in Illustrator. The image uses one of my favourite effects, the halftone bitmap and overprints the colours.

Go with the Flow

A personal project. After trying to make words from alphabet letters (in order only) - I realised you could get the word flow. Go with the Flow was the result. Created in Quark.

We want you...

This character was created to advertise a new store opening (logo removed). Cartoon illustration is not my forte - but I enjoyed doing it anyway. Created in Illustrator from a pencil sketch.

A Sound idea

Personal project put together in Quark. After several colour options, black and yellow seemed to give the best result.

Islands in the Stream

A couple of logo designs for a travel company (never used). Created in Illustrator.

Xmas is coming...

Xmas will be here before you know it. Heres some Xmas card ideas created using Illustrator and Quark, with some scanned textures edited in Photoshop.

Colour Pop

This one started life as a pencil sketch and was coloured up in Photoshop.
To retain the hand drawn look, the original sketch was overlaid using multiply layer.

Juggler

An animated version of the juggler (from the Greatest Show on Earth graphic) was also created in Illustrator and animated as a GIF file in Photoshop.

Blow your mind

I created this graphic from a sketch that was 'vectorised' in Illustrator.
The colours and text were also applied in Illustrator. A warp effect was also used on the text.

Sketch

This colourful graphic started life as a simple marker pen doodle.
I then scanned the sketch and used Hue / Saturation to colour it and added radial blends.

Thoughts in my mind!

This graphic started life as simple sketch with a sharpie pen.
I then scanned the sketch and applied all the colour using Photoshop - simple!
