Wish you were here?

This graphic was created in Illustrator using custom brushes drawn with the pen tool. I think you can achieve some really nice effects with this option. For a change I decided to stick with shades of grey as it seemed to suit the textures. The font is Trebuchet, one of my modern san serif favourites. The text is sarcastic as I don't think you would want to go to here!

Potential

This graphic is based on circles that have been cropped and placed into a square grid. The typeface is Futura, a design classic. I used a mirror reversed version of the logo to create a reflection type effect. I am a sucker for yellow and I think the grey compliments this colour scheme.

Show me the way...

This design started as a collection of arrow graphics taken from the Webdings and Zapf Dingbat font families. I assembled the graphics in Quark Xpress and used Bodoni and BlackOak typefaces. I think yellow combined with black and white creates a vibrant look?

The Hue Experience

I like to play around with words, so the "Hue" experience is a pun on "New" experience. The word hue is another word for colour, so this design has plenty of bright colours. I used the InfoText typeface and the swirl graphics were created in Illustrator. The animation was created in Photoshop as a GIF file.

Its all happening

I was inspired to create a retro graphic with some bright colours and 3D text. This was the result. The 2012 graphic was hand drawn in Illustrator using a custom brush. The 3D effect was created in Illustrator using the extrude filters and the reflection was added in Photoshop. I also used the Dot Matrix font for the sub heading.

Thank You Card - Number 2

The first thank you card design I posted here seemed quite popular so I have created another version on the same theme. This graphic uses the Rotis Serif Italic typeface. The flourishes are based on the Wingdings 2 font with some hand drawn elements added. The design was created using Ilustrator CS5.

Thank You Card

I was recently asked to create a series of Thank You cards for a company to send to its loyal clients. This design was the final one chosen. The client wanted something simple in their corporate colours of Green and Grey. The flower graphics and type were created in Illustrator and the typeface is FF Info Text, a really nice, modern sans serif.

Let me out...

I have always really liked flat, linear graphics. Not because Im a lazy designer, just because I think bold, flat colours and simple graphics can often create more impact. This graphic was created for a poster to promote the 'release' of a new product, The graphics were created in Illustrator and the font is Rotis Serif.

Im all out of Love

When I can't be bothered booting up the beloved Mac I often have a play with iPhone Apps for a little scribble. This one was created with Doodle Buddy and processed with Instagram to give it the retro look.

Barbed

This little graphic was created with an iPhone App called Doodle Buddy. OK so its no work of art, but amazing that you can create doodles like this whilst on the go. Great for creating initial ideas or just messing about. And it's free!

Big in Japan

Another little graphic created on the go with the iPhone App Doodle Buddy. You can even create text and soft / textured edges. Not exactly Photoshop but it's free so who's complaining.
