On the edge

Whilst playing around with some rough edged graphics in Illustrator, I noticed the word edge is a kind of ambigram. The word has been split across two animation frames but is played fast enough so you can still read it. Just hope it doesn't give anyone a migraine!

Ambigram

I love Ambigrams! These are graphic words that can be read right side up - or upside down. I decided to create my own - easier said than done. Can you see what the word is? If this works you should be able to read it upside down as well. I created this new graphic in Illustrator, but the style is based on ambigrams by the artist Jon Langdon.

The city never sleeps

A poster to promote the fact that cities are always open for business no matter what time of night or day.
The graphics were created in Illustrator and I used the red, white and blue colour theme to celebrate the Olympics and the Queen's Jubilee - both here in the UK. Typeface is Calibri.

Posh Dosh

This little graphic started out as a scribble for 'posh dosh' but can also be viewed as 'ysoposh' or 'why so posh'. I love playing with words to see how they can become graphics in their own right. Can you see both variants of the name? The typeface is one of my absolute favourites - Futura.

4T

When I say 4T Im afraid I mean Forty - that magical age that they say life begins at...
Hopefully the visual is obvious otherwise I really have gone off on a tangent. Have I reached that magical age yet? That would be telling. The fonts are from the Gill Sans family.

Keep it Simple

There's an age old saying in design - Keep it Simple, or less is more. Obviously rules are made to be broken, but you have to know the rules first! This graphic is just a personal project that hopefully follows this famous principle. The typeface is Bank Gothic.

Sun and Sea...

A new design created for a Summer product Launch. The waves and sun were hand drawn, then scanned and vectorised in Illustrator. The calendar was also created in Illustator and based on Apples famous calendar icon. I also hand drew the script with a Sharpie Pen to give it a personal touch.
