The Future

A retro inspired poster created in Illustrator CS. It took a bit of fiddling to work out how to create the long shadow effect but I think I cracked it in the end?

Halftones

Playing around with large halftones for a new project. I like the fact that they give the impression of soft edges even though they are just made up of solid dots. Created in Illustrator CS 5.

Balanced Diet

Someone at work mentioned they had a balanced diet and this image suddenly jumped into my mind. Hand drawn in Adobe Ideas with bamboo stylus pen. Why does the guy have an Afro? I have no idea. Thought it was funny to call him Jim (gym) though!

Cool as ice

I created this graphic in Illustrator using the mesh tools - so it's all vector. Seems to work really well with nice soft blends. Stay cool!

If you have a cat you know exactly what I'm talking about. Nobody tells a cat what to do.

Hell Yes

Seems to be a phrase I have picked from Amercan people I chat to on social media. I like the phrase just thought it needed making into a little graphic. Quite fancy it on a T shirt?

Zap!

A freehand graphic created in iDraw with a Wacom stylus pen - influenced by the great pop art designs of the fifties.

Smile

I created this design as a poster to remind people to smile - it costs nothing and is always infectious. Created in iDraw on iPad.

Rock 'n' Roll

The intention with this design was to produce a Rock 'n' Roll themed poster with a colour popping palette - but for this web version I decided to go one step further and create an animated multi-colour version. The type was hand drawn with iDraw and animated in Photoshop CS. Rock 'n' roll baby!

Not Orange

Another illustration from my 'Talking Animals' project. This one is an orangutan who is protesting he is not orange as his name suggests, but a lovely shade of auburn. Hand drawn in Adobe Ideas.

Nobody digs your work

I adapted this design from a famous quote from the film Purple Rain. In essence it derives from the fact that what we create is very personal and not everyone will understand or appreciate what we do. It's all down to personal preference - so I say just stick to your guns and create what inspires you!

Creativity

I think this sums up how many creatives feel. Whether it's art, design, music or writing - there is some driving force within us that makes us want to create - good or bad it doesn't matter. We have no choice - we are creatives and that's what we do!
