In Chains...

A new logo and brand design for 'Smith Chains'. The logo is mono only to emphasise the industrial theme with a simple solid font. The 'S' which respresents two interlocking chains is also used in repeat for the supporting brand graphics.

Whale of a Time

This 3D paper cut was created from a single sheet, cut in reverse and the elements are then folded out to create a layered effect. As the design is only single colour, it is only the shadows and highlights that allow the graphics to be read.

Hooked

For this design I used the letter 'H' to create an interlocking grid to represent the name 'Hooked'. I chose a minimal, muted colour palette to compliment the design. The 'H' is custom drawn so it will interlock correctly and the main font is Myriad Bold.

Bite the Bullet

A new paper cut design based on the phrase 'Bite the Bullet' which means 'Go for it'. All elements hand cut from black, white and gold card, and assembled with foam spacers to create the layered effect.

See Ya!

This design was sketched on paper and then vectorised in Illustrator. The lettering was also hand drawn and I applied transparency effects to the graphic to create the overprinted look.

Fork Handles

This paper cut design was inspired by the famous 'Two Ronnies' sketch 'Fork Handles' where they mistake 'four candles' for 'fork handles'. It's a very clever piece of comedy and always makes me laugh when I see it. All the elements were cut from coloured paper and assembled using foam spacers and double sided tape. I have also posted some images showing the construction method.
