The hexagon is one of my favourite shapes. By overlapping and intersecting them you can create some interesting graphic patterns. I used a retro inspired colour palette to create this design in Illustrator CS.
Be careful, you're entering into traditional quilt block territory - you may experience the desire to buy a sewing machine! It does look good with the splashes of red and white.
